PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead after being hit by a car in south Phoenix early Tuesday morning.
First responders were called to the area of 24th Street and Broadway Road just after midnight for the reported pedestrian crash.
Officers at the scene found a man with serious injuries after he had been hit by a vehicle. Firefighters took the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He has not yet been publicly identified.
It’s unclear if the man was in a marked crosswalk.
The driver of the truck involved in the crash remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation and did not show signs of intoxication, police said.
Detectives responded to investigate what led to the crash. The area has since been completely reopened.
