The new year is just around the corner — the new school year, that is.
Fort Worth ISD trustees on Dec. 9 approved four calendars for the 2026-27 school year.
Here are 2026-27 dates to know:
- Aug. 11: First day of school
- Sept. 7: Labor Day
- Oct. 8-12: Fall break
- Nov. 3: No school for Election Day
- Nov. 11: No school
- Nov. 23-27: Thanksgiving break
- Dec. 17: Fall semester ends
- Dec. 18-Jan. 4, 2027: Winter break
- Jan. 5, 2027: Spring semester begins
- Jan. 18, 2027: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Feb. 15, 2027: Presidents Day
- March 15-19, 2027: Spring break
- March 26-29, 2027: No school
- May 26, 2027: Last day of school
