“Want to become a star?”

The words appeared mysteriously on downtown Dallas sidewalks.

The purple street decals could be interpreted as a promise of a glitzy future with red carpets and flashing paparazzi lights in the context of North Texas’ booming film industry.

But, as it turns out, the decals are neither a casting call for Taylor Sheridan’s growing TV universe (which has taken over Dallas streets in recent months) nor a promotion for another production that’s swooped in to cash in on Texas’ record-high investment in film incentives.
