WBEZ’s Curious City answers questions from listeners about Chicago and the region. We include the public in our storytelling, making journalism more transparent and interconnected.

Chicago celebrates the holidays with all kinds of traditions: the Christkindlmarket, the CTA holiday train, and even Chicagoan Donny Hathaway’s classic tune “This Christmas.” Another tradition to add to the list? The Goodman Theatre’s production of “A Christmas Carol.” While it’s not a distinctly Chicago tradition, the Goodman has been running this annual show for nearly half a century, which has to count for something.

This year, our Chicago Sun-Times colleague Stefano Esposito got the opportunity to play a cameo role in the production. Curious City follows him as he prepares and takes to the stage. Will he do this holiday tradition justice? Click here to read Esposito’s story and press play to listen to his journey into “A Christmas Carol.”
