PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle overnight in the downtown Phoenix area.
Police responded to the reported pedestrian crash at 7th Avenue and Fillmore Street around 1 a.m. on Wednesday. When officers arrived, they found the man with serious injuries after he was hit by a vehicle.
The man was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead from his injuries, police said at the scene. He has not been publicly identified.
Details are still limited as to what led to this crash.
Police said the driver involved did remain at the scene.
Authorities closed 7th Avenue in the area overnight, but the road was reopened around 4 a.m.
