A red flag warning will be in effect across the eastern plains of Boulder County from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday. All of Boulder County is under a high wind warning until midnight, with gusts expected to reach speeds of 85 mph.
A combination of wind, unseasonably warm temperatures and low relative humidity prompted the warnings, according to the National Weather Service.
The NWS warns that uncontrolled burns could spread rapidly. Mountain View Fire Rescue advises that people avoid any open burning and take caution when driving, according to a Mountain View social media post.
