The WMNF Song of the Day for December 19, 2025 is “Sunny Storms” by De La Soul. It is off their album Cabin in the Sky released on November 21, 2025.
De La Soul is an American hip hop group formed in Long Island, New York in 1988. They are best known for their eclectic sampling, eccentric lyrics, and contributions to the evolution of the jazz rap and alternative hip hop subgenres. Kelvin “Posdnuos” Mercer, David “Trugoy the Dove” Jolicoeur, and Vincent “Maseo” Mason formed the group in high school and caught the attention of producer Prince Paul.
Sadly, Trugoy passed away on February 12, 2023. Cabin in the Sky featuring production from DJ Premier, Prince Paul and Pete Rock and guest appearances from Killer Mike, Black Thought, Common and Nas and includes includes segments that Trugoy recorded before he died.
