SAN ANTONIO, Tx — A grieving family wants justice. 35-year-old Kyle Wayne Parnell was shot and killed at a gas station off of Vance Jackson and 410. His mother says it still doesn’t feel real.

“I received a phone call from his then girlfriend telling me he had been shot, and she was on the way to the hospital,” Shawna Farnsworth said.

Farnsworth say witnesses heard several gunshots from a vehicle parked at the gas pump. They then saw her son get out of the passenger side of the vehicle and walk to the store asking for help. Parnell collapsed in front of the store with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital where he died, leaving behind a 12-year-old son.

“I wish I could spend more time with him” Nathaniel McBride Parnell said. “I love him so much.”

Farnsworth says she knows who killed her son.

“His at the time girlfriend talked to the one responsible for shooting him, and then let him leave, is the part that really gets me the most,” Farnsworth said. “Then when detectives asked her who shot him, she said she didn’t know.”

The man believed to have pulled the trigger was arrested in Universal City one day after the shooting for unauthorized use of a vehicle. We’re not naming him because he has not officially been charged with Parnell’s murder.

“He was everything to some of us,” Farnsworth said. “I forgive you, but I hope Kyle gets justice.”
