The heat has mostly locked in for the next week across North Texas.

The high Saturday of 77 degrees is forecast to come within two degrees of the record temperature for Dec. 20, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office. And after a brief interlude, Christmas Day is forecast to be 23 degrees above normal for late December. The temperature, at least, will not be feeling like Christmas.

Stronger winds and sunny conditions should continue Saturday, with a cold front moving in Saturday night. Minimum temperatures will still be above normal, only briefly dipping into the upper 40s, but the high shouldn’t climb as much Sunday afternoon, with a forecasted maximum of 59 degrees.
