CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police issued an alert about two suspects who allegedly tried to lure children into a van on the city’s West Side on Friday afternoon.
It happened as school-age children were walking near the South Austin neighborhood’s 4800-block of West Adams Street around 4 p.m., police said.

Police said one suspect held a piece of paper with an unknown amount of money and said to one of the children, “Hey kid, do you want some money?”
Another suspect allegedly said, “Want to get some candy from inside this van?”
Police said both suspects, males of unknown ages, were standing near a white cargo van with no windows. The vehicle had rust marks on the fender near the tires.
One of the suspects had black and gray hair and wore a black baseball cap, a black short-sleeved t-shirt, white jeans, and black Nike Air Force 1s, police said. The other suspect wore all black.
