Three people were shot while inside a vehicle early Saturday morning in the West Chatham neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side, police said.
The shooting was reported at approximately 12:26 a.m. along South Stewart Avenue near West 81st Street. Police said three people were traveling in a vehicle when they were shot by someone who fled the scene.
A 25-year-old man was shot in the arm and hand, while a 26-year-old woman sustained a graze wound to the abdomen and arm, police said. Another woman, who is 21 years old, was injured by a bullet fragment at the rear of her head.
All three victims sought treatment at a local hospital and were listed in fair condition.
No one was in custody late Sunday morning as detectives continued to investigate.
