Del Mar Little League’s 11U All Stars win district championship – San Diego Union-Tribune

The Del Mar Little League 11U All Star squad won the District 31 championship on July 2, beating 4S Ranch Little League 10-5 in extra innings.

Del Mar started off on top, scoring in the first inning and adding two runs in the third inning. 4S Ranch came back in the bottom of the fifth inning, going up 3-2. Del Mar was able to tie up the game at the bottom of the sixth to take the game into an extra seventh inning. Del Mar charged ahead at the top of the seventh inning, pouring on five runs to take the lead and take the championship.

“The win was a total team effort, all 13 players contributed to the win,” said Manager Brett Wayne.

Next up, the Del Mar Little League 11U All Star team will compete in the Section 6 Tournament starting July 12 where they will face off against the other district winners in this region.
