SAN ANTONIO – H-E-B is sending aid to the Hill Country most impacted by the flooding.
This video circling around social media shows a line of trucks heading to the area.
“Our H-E-B Family is heartbroken by the enormous devastation and loss caused by the flooding in and around the Kerrville area,” company officials said in a statement on Saturday. “We are grateful to local authorities, first responders, and volunteers for their tireless efforts. Kerrville, where our company was started, and the Hill Country have a special place in the heart of our H-E-B family.”
The grocery chain says they’re working closely with the Red Cross, local officials, and first responders to support their needs.
“Our teams are staying close to the hardest-hit areas, and we will continue to provide needed support as these tragic situations evolve. We hold compassion and strength for everyone who has been impacted, and we remain committed to offer unwavering support to our communities.”
Also, Cross Kingdom Church on Junction Highway in Kerrville is accepting donations of clothing, non-perishable food and other toiletries.
Cowboys and Texans Pledge $1 Million to Support Hill Country Flood Victims
Both NFL teams here in Texas — the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans — are contributing $1 million to help the victims’ families and survivors of the Hill Country flooding.
The Houston Texans pledged $500,000 on Saturday. On Instagram, the McNair family, who own the team, say in part: “Our hearts will remain with everyone affected and in addition to our donation, we will continue to support the search, rescue and recovery efforts in the coming weeks.”
The Cowboys also pledged $500,000 on Sunday. They released this statement that says, “Standing side by side with the Salvation Army’s critical response, we are also donating $500,000 to provide immediate resources for rescue, relief, and long term recovery efforts.”
Global superstar Shakira announced that a portion of her San Antonio concert proceeds will go towards disaster relief for flooding victims.
In a statement on X, Shakira said the funds would be donated to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, who are providing support to the families impacted.
“Dear San Antonio, Our hearts and prayers are with those affected by the flood in Central Texas,” the post said in part.
