ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — Air travelers in the region will have one extra destination to choose from among the nonstop flights at Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport. Beginning June 5, 2026, American Airlines will offer daily service to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

ROA officials say the new direct flight will enhance access to the airline’s global network and provide connections to destinations across the Southwest United States and Mexico, as well as Tokyo, Seoul, Honolulu, Maui and more.

“This is a banner moment for ROA and our entire region,” said Mike Stewart, executive director of the Roanoke Regional Airport Commission. “For years, government leaders, the business community, and leisure travelers have requested Dallas-Fort Worth service and better connectivity to the west.”
