Police are investigating the discovery of a body found in a desert area of north Phoenix earlier this month, authorities said.
Officers were called about 1 p.m. Dec. 16 to the area of 64th Street and Mayo Boulevard, where they found a person dead, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The body was found in a rural desert area just east of the Mayo Clinic Hospital and south of Loop 101, police said
The person has not been identified, and the cause of death has not yet been determined. Police said they are not currently searching for a suspect.
As of Dec. 20, investigators had no updates in the case, police Sgt. Lorraine Fernandez said.
The death was being investigated by the Phoenix police and the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office.
