As we continue to track the aftermath of the devastating flooding in the Texas Hill Country, we’re also keeping an eye on the rain chances increasing in our viewing area.
Monday Rain Chances Continue:
Rain chances increase throughout the day. Morning chances start mainly south of I-10, along the coast.
Some of these cells could produce a quick inch to an inch and a half of rain. For those commuting or out and about during the late afternoon, there is a risk of minor flooding on roadway feeders, especially between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

While Monday’s storms aren’t expected to reach the intensity of recent deadly flooding events, caution is advised as downpours move through.

Monday afternoon storms and showers are widely scattered, with the chance for heavy downpours. Monday night showers begin to focus west of Houston.

Chantal made landfall in Litchfield Beach, South Carolina around 3 AM CT. This is the first storm of the 2025 hurricane season to make landfall in the United States. Chantal will continue to weaken as it dumps rain across the the Carolinas and Virginia. Parts of North Carolina have seen multiple inches of rain and are also seeing intense flooding.

Remember, the Atlantic hurricane season lasts through November. Here in SE Texas, we see the tropical season peak in September, but we can see a storm anytime from now through the fall. Last year, Hurricane Beryl made landfall early in the morning on July 8th.
