The NorthPark development cleared a major hurdle Dec. 17 when the Phoenix City Council approved its rezoning request to include semiconductor manufacturing as well as homes and business throughout the 6,534 acres of Arizona State Trust Land.
The move left residents in the area opposed to the project disappointed. Members of the nearby Stetson Valley and Inspiration at Stetson Hills communities spoke out at the council meeting against the proposed development.
Stetson Valley Owners Association board president Amanda McGowan said given previous decisions she was not surprised by the council outcome.
