Fort Worth, Texas – Gloria Carol Roden Moody, age 74, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025. Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2025 in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025 at Mount Olivet Chapel. She was the daughter of James Clyde Roden and Gloria Martha Spencer Roden, owner and operator of Gloria Roden’s 24th street Beauty Salon in Fort Worth. Gloria Moody learned at her mother side and would graduate from high school with a state beauty license, becoming a small business owner/ operator on her own. She worked until 1983 before becoming a mother and wife. She was an avid horse rider and member of The American Paint Horse Association where she rode in many parades and rodeos. Marrying Police Sargent Kenneth Lee Moody of River Oaks, Texas on August 15, 1981 completing the family of Ken and his daughter, Sandra De Ann Moody Kennedy. Soon after she celebrated her 31st birthday with the birth of her only son Kenneth Lee Moody Jr. “Kenny” . Dedicating her life to her family she volunteered as room mom, den mother and scout leader. Later in life she worked tirelessly as an amateur genealogist and DNA sleuth helping other and herself find lost family members. She leaves a legacy of kindness, love and independence. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Kenneth Lee Moody. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Lee Moody Jr. and daughter, Sandra De Ann Kennedy; grandchildren, Delilah Barrett, Ezekiel Griffith, and Pearl Kennedy Hoff.
