Phoenix detectives were investigating a man’s death that as of Dec. 23 was considered a homicide, the Phoenix Police Department said.

At about 8:15 a.m. Dec. 22, officers responded to a call about an injured person near 47th Street and Shea Boulevard, said Sgt. Rob Scherer, a Phoenix police spokesperson.

When officers arrived, they found a deceased man, identified as Zachary Hostetler, 36, according to Scherer.

Hostetler’s death was ruled a homicide Dec. 23 after a postmortem examination done by the Office of the Medical Examiner.

The Phoenix Police Department has asked anyone with information related to this incident to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO).

Additionally, a reward was offered for information leading to an arrest in this case, Scherer added.
