It’s a toasty one, Mr. Grinch.

Dallas-Fort Worth is forecast to tie the hottest Christmas on record Thursday, with a high of 82 degrees. That record was set in 2021, but Christmas holidays have been relatively seasonable in the years since.

According to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office, the metro area has a 50% chance of breaking or tying the record. It’s also expected to get even hotter on Friday and Saturday, meaning multiple high temperature records could be broken this week.

Sunday is expected to start warm as well, but a cold front is expected to move in during the afternoon and evening. Temperatures should be down into the 30s by Monday morning, but shouldn’t dip below freezing until just before sunrise on Tuesday.
