The Christmas Eve storm that brought steady rain Wednesday was a record-setter.
The storm, which will deliver more scattered showers Thursday, produced hours of rainfall that started in the early morning hours. The system led to flooding on Los Angeles freeways, heightened concerns over debris flows in burn zones and mud flows in the mountain community of Wrightwood.
Here are some daily rainfall records for Dec. 24.
- Woodland Hills: 3.96 inches broke the old mark of 2.91 inches set in 1971.
- Burbank Airpot: 3.39 inches broke the old mark of 2.29 inches set in 1971
- Oxnard NWS: 3.33 inches broke the old mark of 1.24 inches set in 1946.
- Anaheim: 1.87 inches broke the old mark of 1.12 inches set in 2021.
