PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A former state representative and current member of a Valley school district board announced her plan to run for Governor in 2026.
Leezah Sun, who is currently a board member of the Tolleson Union High School District and a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives made the announcement on her Instagram page earlier this week.
In her post, she said she would lower costs, protect public schools, and restore power to the working class of Arizona.
“This campaign is not about left or right; it is about right and wrong.”
Sun’s political career has had some controversial moments in the past which included resigning from the State House in 2024 after an ethics committee found she violated ethics rules with a pattern of disorderly behavior.
In a statement of interest filed through the Secretary of State’s office, Sun is running as an Independent.
