Jacksonville food truck owner’s trailer stolen on Christmas, community offers reward

  • December 26, 2025

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville food truck owner woke up on Christmas morning to find his trailer missing from its usual spot on the Northside.

Perla Del Norte posted pictures of the stolen trailer on Instagram, asking for information about its whereabouts.

The local food truck community is now stepping up to help find the missing trailer.

Perla Del Norte’s trailer disappeared overnight between Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. Owner Lorenzo Perez said losing the trailer means losing his livelihood.

“It’s terrible. It’s for supporting the family,” Perez said. “I need a job, this job for my family, my grandson, my granddaughter.”

Friends in the food truck community are helping with the search. Robert Germano, owner of Trout River Food Park, is offering a $500 reward for the trailer’s return.

He found out about the stolen trailer when To Be Frank, another food truck, posted about the situation.

“That’s the post that I saw,” Germano said. “I’m really frustrated with it so much that I was like, yeah, I’m gonna put up a $500 reward and anything to try to get this back.”

Germano said he found it especially frustrating that the trailer was stolen on Christmas.

“That’s his business. That’s how he supports his family. It’s not just something, vehicle stolen. That’s his job. That’s his business. And that’s how his family is involved in the business as well,” Germano added.

Perez has filed a police report with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information about the trailer is asked to contact Perez or the sheriff’s office.
