North Texas can expect the streak of sunny and warm weather to continue into the holiday weekend.

Dallas-Fort Worth got close to the hottest Christmas on record but fell short of the record of 82 degrees. So far, 2021 has been the hottest Christmas for the North Texas area.

Weather on Friday and Saturday is forecast by the National Weather Service to reach the mid-80s and potentially record-breaking highs of 83 degrees on Friday and 82 degrees on Saturday.

By Sunday, temperatures will cool off and settle into the 70s with brief chances of rain. The upcoming week will start to get chilly on Monday with temperatures forecast to be as low as 35 degrees.
