HOUSTON – Houston police are piecing together what happened during an officer-involved shooting in southeast Houston early Friday morning.

What we know:
According to reports, officers were on Cityscape Avenue off of Almeda Genoa Road near Highway 288 for an apparent crash.
The driver of the crashed vehicle allegedly pulled out a firearm from inside his vehicle, officials report. The officers fired back, hitting the armed driver.
Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
What we don’t know:
It has not been confirmed how many officers shot their weapons at the suspect.
Police have not stated what happened before the shooting.
