Mickey Lee, a contestant on the latest season of the hit reality TV show “Big Brother,” has died. Lee’s death was confirmed on social media Friday by her family, who said the TV personality died Thursday evening.

“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike,” the post reads. “She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.”

Lee was hospitalized recently after suffering cardiac arrest related to flu complications. On Monday, her family announced Lee was in critical but stable condition at a Florida hospital, according to TMZ. A fundraising campaign launched that same day said Lee was surrounded by family at the hospital.

Castmate Jimmy Heagerty offered his condolences after the news of Lee’s death was announced.

“Mickey, my heart is absolutely broken. In the house you were my friend, my first #1, and my ride or die. Outside of the house we reaffirmed our friendship, and that meant more to me than you’ll ever know,” Heagerty wrote.

Lee, who was 35, finished in 10th place in the reality competition which aired its Season 27 finale in September.
