ANTHEM (AZFamily) — A Phoenix woman is facing serious charges after allegedly driving more than 110 mph while intoxicated with her 8-year-old daughter in the back seat.
At about 2:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper stopped a Nissan Altima on Interstate 17 near Anthem Way for speeding.
According to court documents, the trooper smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath, who was identified as Ariel Olson. She was administered a field sobriety test, which she reportedly failed, and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Court documents say Olson admitted to drinking a “99 Bananas” about two hours before driving.
Her daughter was later released to a family member.
