SAN ANTONIO – A family gathering on the northeast side of San Antonio, intended to be a Christmas celebration, took a frightening turn early this morning, resulting in a father and son being hospitalized.

The incident unfolded on Castle Hunt Drive, where a confrontation between neighbors escalated into a stabbing and assault, according to San Antonio police.

Alexis Tobias, one of the victims, recounted the harrowing events. “That’s where it all happened over here, there’s actually blood stains right there, and blood stains over there. I guess they cleaned it up over there, but that’s from my dad,” Tobias said, standing outside his family home.

Tobias explained that the trouble began when his father confronted a neighbor suspected of stealing car parts. “We already had some neighbors report that guy coming by the expedition we had there. He had stolen some parts already, and my dad had confronted him outside on the street and asked him, why was he doing that? And he was getting kind of aggressive. So my dad had thrown a punch,” Tobias said.

The neighbor left but returned with two to three more men, leading to a physical altercation. “Unfortunately, my dad got cut, like an inch into his chest,” Tobias said. His father was also struck in the head with a metal bat, resulting in significant swelling and requiring seven stitches.

During the attack, Tobias attempted to protect his father and was struck in the face. “I got hit in the face with the bat, the metal bat, and I kind of tumbled, I didn’t lose any memory or anything,” he said.

The attackers fled the scene in a gray SUV, leaving the family shaken. Tobias showed handprints left on the family’s car, now being used as evidence. “We haven’t touched it, we’re letting the detectives come and see it,” he said.

Both father and son are recovering from their injuries, while San Antonio police continue their investigation. No arrests have been made.
