LAKE WORTH, Texas — Lake Worth police fatally shot a chase suspect Friday evening, officials said.

The incident unfolded near Jacksboro Highway and Paul Meador Road, according to a statement from the Lake Worth Police Department shortly before 8 p.m.

Officers began chasing a wanted suspect after a traffic stop, according to Lake Worth Police Chief J.T. Manoushagian. At some point in the chase, the suspect’s vehicle became disabled. Officers saw the suspect pull what appeared to be a weapon, Manoushagian said, and then officers shot the suspect.

The suspect died. No officers were injured during the incident.

Four officers were involved in the incident, police said.

More details about the shooting were not yet available Friday evening.
