On Monday, December 22, 2025, at about 4:10 pm, the South Pasadena Police Department Communications Center received a call about a residential burglary that just occurred in the 400 Block of Alta Vista Avenue. The resident returned home and found the suspect inside the property. They got into a brief confrontation after which the suspect fled the area on a bicycle.
Officers responded to the area and began searching for the suspect. Officers checked not only the surrounding areas of South Pasadena but also neighboring jurisdictions, anticipating the suspect’s escape route. Officers ultimately located the suspect in the 5700 Block of Huntington Drive North in the City of Los Angeles and detained him. The suspect was with another male who was also detained at the scene.
The suspect, twenty-six-year-old Guillermo Ibarra of Los Angeles, was arrested for residential burglary and was later taken to the Inmate Reception Center for housing. The second male was found not to be connected to the burglary but had outstanding warrants from the Alhambra Police Department and was released into their custody.
