PHOENIX — Eastbound Loop 202 was reopened after it was closed early Saturday morning in Mesa due to a crash, authorities said.

The crash occurred near McDowell Road, leading to officials diverting traffic off the freeway at Gilbert Road, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The closure began around 3:30 a.m., according to AZ 511.

ADOT announced it had reopened about four hours later, as the westbound lanes remained open throughout the closure.
