Samsung is now gearing up for the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 to be held in two days and while the event is just around the corner, the hype around what to expect and what changes could be observed this time around is not slowing down. The tech community seems to be majorly hooked on the upcoming foldable especially with the speculations giving away quite a few insights on the next models. Now, some last minute leaks seem to have emerged that is taking us by surprise and seem to defy earlier rumors, something that very few saw coming about the new foldable specifications.

Tipster now claims Samsung’s foldable to sport slimmer build, display parity and an unexpected strategy change for the budget model

While the rumor mill has been churning for quite some time about Samsung’s upcoming foldable lineup to be unveiled on July 9th, at the Unpacked event, earlier speculations seem to mirror the same specifications on what to expect from the new models. The latest leak by renowned tipster Roland Quandt of WinFuture, seems to be bringing about a new twist in the tech giant’s strategy, revealing specifications about the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE and stepping away from previous claims.

His first post seems to be extracting information from official promotional material and seems to be more about the Galaxy Z Fold 7. As per the leak, Z Fold 7 will sit at 8.9mm thickness when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded. What was alarming was the weight of the Fold 7 as the leak claims it would only weigh 216 grams and this is despite of the larger screen. If this stands true, it could be even lighter the Galaxy S25 Ultra and could make it the company’s lightest foldable yet.

Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and have an 8-inch main display and a 6.5 inch cover display. We have sparse information on the camera details other than the 200 primary sensor, but the model is said to come with a 4,000 mAh battery and continuing previous pattern of batteries used for foldable. When it comes to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE, there is not much information given out and nothing has been spilled about the processor, but the display size is what is rather surprising.

Galaxy Z Flip FE specifications

According to the specification sheet shared, both the models would offer the same screen dimension, a 6.9 inch main display and a 4.1 inch cover display, emphasizing no size disparity between the standard and the budget model. This seems to be contradict with earlier speculations that suggested a smaller screen size for the FE model to help cut down on the costs. If the latest leak does end up being accurate, it marks a major shift in Samsung’s strategy when it comes to screen sizes in the budget models and it seems like it would be working on other areas to bring down the cost.

Since there is a chance the specification table shared could hold inaccurate details and the earlier leaks could stand true instead, all the information should be taken with a grain of salt. It could also be that Samsung does indeed take everyone by surprise during the Unpacked event on Wednesday.
