PHOENIX — The driver in a late-night Phoenix collision that killed a pedestrian on Friday was processed for DUI, authorities said.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to 36th and Northern avenues around 11 p.m. to find an adult male in critical condition following a collision.
He was pronounced dead upon the Phoenix Fire Department’s arrival.
The driver involved, also an adult male, was identified at the scene and taken to a precinct where he was processed for DUI.
Detectives determined the pedestrian was trying to cross Northern Avenue without utilizing a crosswalk when he was struck.
The investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.
