Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded shortly before 6 a.m. after a 911 caller reported the fire at a retail shopping location, according to fire officials.

DALLAS — A longtime Dallas pizza restaurant is having to temporarily close one of its locations due to a fire.

The Campisi’s at 5405 W. Lovers Lane was one of several businesses impacted by an early-morning fire Saturday, officials said.

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded shortly before 6 a.m. after a 911 caller reported the fire at a retail shopping location, according to fire officials. Firefighters found smoke coming from the roof of the shopping center. The fire was mostly in the attic of the building, but a second alarm response was called as the fire spread, officials said.

Most of the fire was put out “relatively fast,” according to a Dallas Fire-Rescue statement, but crews still had to spend over four hours working on hotspots and digging through debris. The fire damaged at least four businesses, and the cause of the fire remains unknown, officials said.

Campisi’s posted on social media that their location at the shopping center will have to be temporarily closed as a result of the fire. More details about the damage were not released.

Campisi’s also has locations in Downtown Dallas, on Mockingbird Lane, in Far North Dallas and various other locations across North Texas, including Love Field airport and Fort Worth.

Campisi’s first opened its Mockingbird location in 1950 and the business ultimately expanded to more locations.
