If you’ve noticed lines wrapping around the block at pop-up events across Los Angeles, there’s a good chance Hot Grease is the reason.
The Southern fried snapper pop-up has quietly (and deliciously) become one of the city’s most talked-about food moments, drawing crowds at every appearance. And for a very good reason!
What makes Hot Grease special
This Southern inspired food truck serves up crispy, golden snapper is fried to perfection. And that’s not all – the sides are just as scrumptious.
Hot Grease isn’t cutting corners. Everything is made in-house except the bread and fries, and even the fry seasoning is their own custom blend. The flavors lean Southern, bold, and comforting, with thoughtful details that elevate every bite.
One standout is the chow chow, a Southern pickled vegetable relish traditionally made with cabbage and green tomatoes. Hot Grease puts its own spin on it, using tomatillos and bell peppers, delivering the perfect tangy crunch to balance the fried snapper.
Even better? 3% of every sale goes directly to The Potlikker Line, a mutual aid organization rooted in food justice. Hot Grease is a community-driven operation serving up delicious food with intention.
