DEERFIELD, N.Y. — A WKTV employee celebrated a milestone anniversary on Monday.
It marked the 50th anniversary of Chief Engineer Tom McNicholl’s first day at WKTV.
McNicholl started at WKTV working in the tape room and as a camera operator. He worked his way up to become the station’s chief engineer.
McNicholl recently earned the prestigious rank of fellow by the National Society of Broadcast Engineers.
WKTV’s chief engineer is being honored with the esteemed title of fellow by the National Society of Broadcast Engineers.
“Tom has given over five decades of blood, sweat, and tears to WKTV, and we are all better for it—his co-workers, friends, and most of all, the community we serve. To be able to adapt to the ever-changing technology that the broadcast business undergoes almost daily, it’s a truly remarkable feat to earn a level of excellence and longevity that Tom has achieved,“ WKTV General Manager Steve McMurray said.
