PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia International Airport expects Monday to be the second-busiest travel day of the Christmas holiday rush.
PHL predicts more than 93,000 passengers will fly in or out of the city on Monday.
That’s just under 1,000 fewer than the busiest day, which was the day after Christmas.
There were at least 55 delays and 30 cancellations already as of Monday morning, but travelers we spoke to weren’t having any trouble.
“I was expecting it to be busier because it’s just a few days after Christmas, that’s when people are coming through, but it’s a good surprise that it’s not,” said Hannah Melton of Panama City, Florida.
“It was an easy trip back to Philadelphia from Indiana. I had a stop in Washington, no delays to speak of, and I got my luggage right away,” said Rob Walters of Newark, Delaware. “I don’t know what could make my day any easier.”
Most holiday travelers are driving.
AAA noon to 8pm will be the busiest time on the roads Monday.
