Until Jan 24, City of Dallas residents can drop off used, undecorated Christmas trees at four sanitation department sites, including the Northeast Transfer Station in Lake Highlands. Neighbors can also leave their trees out for regularly scheduled brush and bulky item collection.
For brush and bulky trash pickup, residents must place trees on the curb by 7:00 a.m. the Monday of pickup week. Trees must be natural and stripped of garlands, ornaments, lights and any other decorations.
To get rid of trees at the Fair Oaks Transfer Station or any other permitted dumping sites, neighbors must have a valid driver’s license and proof of residency, which can be shown with a Dallas Water Utilities Bill or the address on their ID. Again, trees must be natural and undecorated.
More information on collection schedules and transfer station hours can be found on the sanitation department’s website.
