Vocalist Lukas Magyar has confirmed his exit from progressive metalcore outfit Veil Of Maya. That band officially went on hiatus back in September of 2024, with guitarist Marc Okubo having taken on a role as a touring guitarist in multi-platinum alternative metal band Falling In Reverse.

Magyar meanwhile has shifted his full musical focus to SIFYN, removing his vocalist role in Veil Of Maya from the bio of his Instagram profile. Furthermore, he confirmed via commentary on Instagram that he is no longer involved with Veil Of Maya.

Replying to a fan who asked in part, “Does this men we likely won’t be seeing VOM again?”, Magyar replied directly, “if you do, it won’t be with me. I decided to part ways and focus on SIFYN.”

A separate exchange found a fan asking, “VOM no more?”, to which Magyar replied, “I had to step away and focus on other things.” At present there’s no concrete indication that Veil Of Maya will continue, aside from a January 2025 post from Okubo, which read, “When veil comes back it will be the heavy version.” The band’s initial hiatus statement also indicated “we will be back.”

Of course, in the new context of Magyar‘ decision to exit, Okubo‘s comments could now be seen in a whole new light, potentially opening the door for the return of one of Magyar‘s predecessors in the band. Whether or not that was the context he meant it in yet remains to be seen however.
