Driver, 62, charged with speeding and stunt driving after being stopped in south Barrie neighbourhood Sunday
A Barrie police officer conducting traffic enforcement in the city’s south end Sunday captured a vehicle travelling 103 kilometres per hour in a 60-km/h zone.
At around 11 a.m. on Dec. 28, police say the officer was using a speed radar in the area of Essa and Salem roads.
The 62-year-old driver was charged with speeding and stunt driving, police say. In addition to the charges, their licence was suspended for 30 days and vehicle impounded for 14 days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in March.
“Barrie police are reminding drivers to slow down, leave extra time to get to your destinations and drive according to road conditions,” police stated in a release.
