Clear Lake

The drive to this Clear Lake dance hall is worth it for a turn on the mechanical bull and a spin on the giant dance floor. Also, there aren’t many places that boast a 120-foot bar. Fridays are ideal for learning nearly any dance step, from the traditional two-step to the East Coast Swing, while Saturday nights promise more lessons.

Stafford

This Stafford nightclub embraces “the fierce, independent spirit” associated with the Chinese Zodiac’s year of the firehorse. It also claims to have the largest open dance floor in southwest Houston, so be prepared to get your do-si-do on with lots of extra space. Now, the completely remodeled Neon Boots boasts a massive dance floor, a stage for performances, an outdoor patio, and multiple bars. Get your boot-scootin’ boogie on every Saturday when they blast country music until 2am. Switch it up and salsa the night away during Latin dance parties on Fridays.

north houston

Gather the crew for a lively night out at this country and western nightclub. Two-step all night on Stampede Houston’s massive 3,500-square-foot dance floor. Itching to learn a new line dance? Take its free class on Fridays at 8pm.

Humble

The go-to spot for cheap drinks and a good time, this Humble honky-tonk recently celebrated 25 years. Perfect your moves during lessons on Thursdays, learn to line dance on Fridays, or grab your sparkly boots and your girls for Ladies Night on Saturdays, when gals get in free and country music spins all night long.

Midtown

An extension of the iconic Continental Club in Midtown, this one-of-a-kind lounge is named in honor of “Shoeshine” Charley Miller, a favorite announcer known for his shoeshines and legendary band introductions. Big Top hosts country stars for Horni Tonk Tuesdays, where attendees can sip cold beer while enjoying acts like Broken Spokes, Rose Vaughn, and Travis Cole’s Hellbent Honky Tonk.
