16-year-old boy who went missing Christmas night in Houston area found safe

  • December 30, 2025

Authorities confirmed 16‑year‑old Jalen Rodriguez, who walked away from his home on Christmas night, has been found safe on Dec. 30.

He was located at a nearby park.

Previous:

Jalen’s family found his bed empty on Dec. 25 at about 9 p.m. They later learned from other high school students that he was seen at a local park, sleeping in the pool restroom and using pool cushions to make a place to sleep. He has not been seen since.

Family and friends say they have searched the park, surrounding woods, bridges and other known hiding spots with no success. They are deeply concerned he may be staying somewhere people do not realize his family and Brazoria County authorities are actively searching.

Rodriguez left his cell phone at home, but the family cannot access it because he changed the password and the associated email address. The family says the longer he is missing, the more urgent the situation becomes because he is without his medication.

Anyone who lives in or around Iowa Colony and the Brazoria County area is asked to check doorbell cameras, driveway cameras or other neighborhood footage from the night of Dec. 25 through the present.

If you have any information, please contact the Iowa Colony Police Department at 281‑369‑3444, Brazoria County authorities, or call his mother at 713‑962‑7157.
