Love City Brewing Is Hosting a Grown-Up Book Fair & Swap with Author Jo Piazza, Featuring Nostalgic Vibes & Brews
Published on December 30, 2025
Bookworms and beer lovers, rejoice—Books and Brews Philly is bringing back its beloved Grown-Up Book Fair and Swap to Love City Brewing (1023 Hamilton St.) on January 24, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, and it’s shaping up to be a perfect winter afternoon for literary lovers. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at allevents.in.
Hosted at the spacious, industrial-chic Love City taproom (1023 Hamilton St. in Spring Arts), this event blends the nostalgia of an elementary school book fair with the perks of adulthood—craft beer, merch shopping, and a curated book collection that feels worlds more sophisticated than the Goosebumps and Captain Underpants of yesteryear.
This time around, Books and Brews Philly is teaming up with bestselling author Jo Piazza (known for Everyone Is Lying to You and The Sicilian Inheritance) and her pop-up bookstore Bookcase Books, creating an experience that feels like stepping back in time—if your childhood book fairs had hazy IPAs and mystery paperbacks wrapped like blind dates.
Guests are invited to:
-
Bring a gently used book (or up to 10) to swap
-
Grab a beer from Love City’s bar while browsing
-
Shop new titles and merch from Bookcase Books
-
Browse a table of “Blind Date With a Book” surprises
-
Take home up to four new-to-you books
-
Support Books Through Bars, a nonprofit providing books to incarcerated people
This event is 21+, and admission is free with the purchase of a drink.
