A man was hospitalized Wednesday morning after being shot by officers with the Philadelphia Police Department following an incident that happened in North Philly, officials said.
Investigators were at the scene, Wednesday morning after, officials confirmed, a man was shot by police in an incident that happened along Bailey Street, near Montgomery Avenue and 26th Street at about 3 a.m.
Police at the scene, on Wednesday morning, told NBC10 that an investigation was underway into the incident, but could not immediately provide more information on what may have led to the shooting.
The man has been hospitalized, but officials did not immediately provide details on the severity of his injuries or his condition.
At the scene before daybreak on Wednesday, investigators could be seen canvasing the area and knocking on doors to speak with neighbors following the shooting.
Officials have also not yet said if the man was armed when the shooting happened, if he is facing any charges or how many officers were involved in the incident.
