While January 2026 won’t gift us a Blue Moon event — the chance to savor two full moons in one month — there will be multiple full moon experiences at a local garden in the coming month and year, evening happenings that are all about savoring a serene starlit stroll.

The first of these 2026 full moon outings will take place Jan. 2 and 3, with another popping up Jan. 31, followed by another adventure Feb. 1.

And if the notion of a forest bathing walk, one that is about basking in the beauty of nature after the sun has bid goodbye for the day, feels like the way you’d like to start 2026, be cheered: The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden will hold a moonlit adventure on the first Friday and Saturday of the new year.

Your ticket will give you entry to one of the nights, do keep in mind, so be sure to check the date when purchasing.

“Our full moon walks begin before sunset, allowing participants to experience the softening of light and sound, the changing sky, and the rising moon,” shares the garden team.

“As darkness falls, we shift from visual focus to subtler senses to guide our exploration.”

The upcoming full moon, the Wolf Moon, will light the first of several nighttime events expected to roll out at the Arcadia destination over the next 12 months.

And while a Blue Moon isn’t due for several years — the next full moon will be in early February, even though there is a Jan. 31 full moon event at the garden — lunar lovers can map out their alfresco 2026 adventures by keeping tabs on the LA Arboretum calendar.

Could you forest bathe at LA Arboretum during every full moon of 2026, from the Wolf Moon of January to the Cold Moon of December?

Call it an uplifting goal for 2026, a resolution that possesses more than a little moon magic and plenty of nature-found joy.
