HOUSTON — It’s New Year’s Eve and there are plenty of ways to ring in 2026 in Houston, including several fireworks displays and family-friendly fun. Here are just a few options to choose from.
POST Houston downtown
9 p.m. – 2 a.m.
POST Houston is hosting a Great Gatsby–inspired New Year’s Eve celebration with rooftop bars, late-night bites and skyline views. VIP tickets are sold out, but limited GA tickets are still available. The night leads up to a midnight fireworks show by Celestial Displays, with multiple launch zones on the 5.5-acre Skylawn.
Constellation Field in Sugar Land
6 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Constellation Field in Sugar Land will feature family fun and a midnight fireworks show, presented by Houston Methodist.
Kemah Boardwalk
Free to the public
Kemah Boardwalk is offering a full day of live music, entertainment and activities leading up to fireworks.
Schedule highlights:
- 1–5 p.m.: Live Music — The Outsiders
- 2–6 p.m.: Kids’ craft corner, DJ, stiltwalker
- 4:59 p.m.: Kids’ Bubble Countdown
- 6–10 p.m.: Live Music — Timeless HTX
- 9 p.m.: Fireworks
Moody Gardens in Galveston Island Options
Early Fireworks at Moody Gardens
6:30 p.m. at Over Offatts Bayou
Moody Gardens kicks off the night with early fireworks at 6:30 p.m., surrounded by holiday décor and seasonal attractions. The display is positioned as a starting point for the night rather than a finale.
Home Run Dugout in Katy
Starts at 5 p.m.
Katy’s Home Run Dugout is hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration with early fireworks at 8:30 p.m. Tables include a complimentary bottle of champagne.
Redemption Square in Houston
Take in the premiere New Year’s Even experience with live music and fireworks at midnight.
Tickets:
$55 per person or $200 per table (seats 4)
Go skating in downtown Houston
Discovery Green will not have fireworks this year, but will offer ice skating instead:
- Wednesday: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Thursday: 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Tickets are $18 and include skate rental. The seasonal rink, Green Mountain Energy Ice, is made from the Kinder Lake model boat basin and will operate through February 2.
