TULSA, Okla. — A new Little Free Library has just been installed along the Osage Prairie Trail in the Phoenix District of north Tulsa.
“We’re so excited to unveil the Little Library,” shared Cheryl Lawson, a Board Member on the Phoenix Development Council. “The Jack and Jill Foundation was so gracious to provide this to our district to just give people one more thing to do and enjoy on a beautiful day like today, sitting on a bench or just stopping by to pick up one of the care packages or grab a book or even donate a book to the Little Library.”
Lawson said everyone is welcome to come take a book and she encourages everyone who can to also donate a book.
“If they would like to take a book or read a book while they’re sitting here, they’re welcome to come in and take the book or sit here and read. Also, we need people to bring books to donate because everybody wants to read stories, whether it’s a children’s book or an educational book. Any type of book that you think would be appropriate for a general audience would be appropriate and we would appreciate it.”
Anyone in need can also take one of the care packages filled with toiletries and other necessities that are inside the Little Free Library.
Lawson said it’s amazing to have one more thing making the Phoenix District better.
“It is very rewarding I think, especially as a neighbor here, to see something like this. I grew up in this neighborhood, I live in this neighborhood and to see something like this, it just warms my heart that people thought enough to even donate this…We’re just so proud to have it in our community.”
