We are privileged each week to present some of the most interesting, most exclusive, and most eclectic listings available in the North Texas area in our Highlight Homes of the Week, sponsored by Lisa Peters, Senior Financial Officer with First Horizon. These listings range from the newest construction in up-and-coming areas, to historic homes in storied pockets of town, to architectural gems designed by recognized names in the industry.
To round out our year of remarkable and exciting homes, we picked a few particularly memorable ones that inspired us.
Neal Lacey’s Continuing Legacy

This midcentury treasure had a fascinating story and a storied pedigree to go with it. As predicted, it didn’t spend long on the market before some lucky buyer scooped it up. AIA architect Neal Lacey’s design is timeless, and the home maintains its charm for a modern buyer, both indoors and out.
Stevens Park Stunner

This 1935-built stunner had me at the beautifully maintained stucco exterior and a brand new red tile roof. But a Spanish Colonial on a large, treed lot, with four bedrooms, in the heart of coveted Stevens Park is something to get excited about in any case. The home at 2010 Mayflower is a beautifully and thoughtfully updated home, and was the perfect opportunity for a sophisticated buyer who appreciates historic homes to move in without having to do much.
The Prettiest House on the Block

What a thrill to get to write about this exciting home, and — according to listing agent David Griffin — to be instrumental in garnering the attention of the eventual buyer who will continue the legacy of the historic property. This Dines & Kraft estate was one of the most architecturally significant homes on the market this year.
A Contemporary Masterpiece

I love a house that makes you “Ooh” and “Ahh,” and this is definitely one of those. Kessler Woods is one of those neighborhoods where you find architectural gems like this Russell Buchanan-designed home that make you gasp with delight, and 709 Kessler Woods Trail is one-of-a-kind.
