Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski has been regarded as one of the best NFL tight ends in history. But he couldn’t have gotten there without his other half.
“There has been a lot of success in that decade and it just keeps continuing,” Gronkowski told The New York Post. “And I wouldn’t be where I am without her right now. So gotta ask her how she got me to this point because she can only explain it to the best, how she got the best out of me. She’s got a funny story behind that.”

Rob Gronkowski’s girlfriend is Camille Kostek, a former New England Patriots cheerleader and Sports Illustrated swim model. The football player met the then-cheerleader at a charity event in 2013. “He ripped off his ‘Hi My name is Rob Gronkowski’ sticker on his T-shirt. He had written on the back of it his phone number,” Kostek recalled on SiriusXM’s This Is Happening with Mark Zito and Ryan Sampson. One of Gronk’s teammates, Jermaine Wiggins, handed her his number. “I was a rookie. I was like, ‘Oh no, no, no, I can’t take this. I can’t take his number.’ And then [his teammate] was like, ‘Just take it,’ and I was like, ‘Okay,’ and I put it in my pocket. And I never spoke about it again.”
The two reportedly bonded over FaceTime, but had to keep their relationship a secret for two years. “The football players don’t get in trouble, but the cheerleaders get kicked off the team,” she explained at a live taping of a live taping of Kristin Cavallari’s Let’s Be Honest tour, adding that she doesn’t “think that’s a rule anymore.”
“Honestly, when people ask, like, ‘What’s the recipe to success with this relationship?’ It was really dating behind closed doors for two years. Rob is my best friend.” The two briefly split in 2017, but reunited shortly after. “Some of the best things in my life came from this f—— breakup that broke me, but also allowed me to find who I am,” said Kostek.
Camille also disclosed that some other WAGs judged her hard for not being married to Gronk. “I felt like I was seen as a lesser-than girlfriend because I didn’t have a ring on my finger,” she recounted. “But you want to know what’s so interesting about that? The woman that’s coming to mind [who] judged me the most, she’s divorced.”
Since their fated meeting was set during Thanksgiving, which is arguably football’s busiest time of the year, the two still have time to celebrate their anniversary with each other. “We celebrate the anniversary annually every year throughout the whole Thanksgiving week, seeing our families and feasting on some delicious food,” the retired athlete told People. “During football season, it’s a little bit more difficult to celebrate the wonderful occasion, so Thanksgiving makes it the perfect go-to celebration every time.”
