Suspected Gang Members Shoot Woman During Argument in DTLA

A 34-year-old woman is hospitalized Thursday after she was shot in what police said was a gang-related shooting in downtown Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to Fifth and Wall streets at approximately 10:55 p.m. Wednesday where officers said a suspect inside a nearby vehicle and the victim were engaged in a verbal altercation, a LAPD spokesman told City News Service.

At some point during the argument, the suspect drew a gun and shot the victim before driving away, west on Fifth, police said.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene and took the victim to a hospital in stable condition.

There was no suspect description.
